Places you must Visit in Vietnam

Experience the best Vietnam

Vietnam is a country that is rich in both culture and history, and there is no better way to experience this than by visiting its vibrant cities and scenic landscapes. During my recent travels to Vietnam, I had the opportunity to explore Ho Chi Minh, Phu Quoc, Danang, Hoi An, Hue, and Hanoi, and I was struck by the beauty of this country and the kindness of its people.

Ho Chi Minh

  •           My journey started in Ho Chi Minh, formerly known as Saigon, which is the largest city in Vietnam. The city is known for its bustling streets, colonial architecture, and delicious street food. I spent my days exploring the city’s landmarks, including the War Remnants Museum and the Cu Chi Tunnels, which provided an insightful look into the country’s past.

Phu Quoc

  • After spending a few days in Ho Chi Minh, I travelled to Phu Quoc, which is a small island located in the Gulf of Thailand. The island is home to some of the most stunning beaches I have ever seen, and I spent my days lounging on the white sand and swimming in the crystal-clear waters. One of the highlights of my trip to Phu Quoc was snorkelling, where I was able to witness the vibrant coral reefs and colourful marine life.

Da Nang

  • Next, I travelled to Danang, which is a coastal city located in central Vietnam. The city is known for its beaches and temples, and I spent my days exploring the famous Marble Mountains and the ancient Hindu temple of My Son. The city also has a vibrant food scene, and I indulged in some of the local favourites, including banh mi and pho.
  • The next day we travelled to Ba Na Hills and found some iconic photo location such as the Golden Bridge and the unique European architecture.

Hoi An

  • From Danang, I travelled to Hoi An, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its charming streets and historic architecture. The city is known for its lanterns, and I spent my evenings walking through the streets illuminated by these beautiful decorations. The city is also known for its tailors, and I had a suit made at one of the many shops in the city.

Hue

  • After Hoi An, I travelled to Hue, which is the former imperial capital of Vietnam. On the way there we made some important pit stops.
  • Chua Tam Thai comes as the first stop, where we journeyed through the cultural and spiritual heritage.
  • Chua Lonh Ung was the next stop where we were amazed by the enormous size of the buddha statue.
  • And lastly, Phu Loc-Lang Co emerges as a surprisingly calm and majestic lake with rich fishing history.
  • The city is known for its historic landmarks, including the Citadel and the Thien Mu Pagoda. I also took a boat ride down the Perfume River, which provided stunning views of the city’s landmarks and the surrounding countryside.

Hanoi

  • My journey ended in Hanoi, which is the capital of Vietnam. The city is known for its vibrant street life and its role in the country’s history. I spent my days exploring the Old Quarter, which is filled with narrow streets and traditional houses. I also visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Temple of Literature, both of which provided insight into the country’s past and culture.

Ha Long Bay

  • We were drawn to Ha Long Bay’s mesmerizing mountains. We ended up staying overnight on a cruise and enjoyed the beauty of sunset as it dips into the vagrant water. Its enchanting beauty left us a snapchat that will remain in our eyes.

Sapa

  • I navigated to Sapa known for its stunning terraced rice fields. The city has vibrant markets, unique landscapes and most importantly rich in tradition. We went on a tour, where she took us on a 5-hour hike along villagers, steep landscapes and beautiful rice fields.

Ninh Binh

  • As our Vietnam trip came to an end, we took a day tour to Ninh Binh often referred as Ha Long Bay on Land. This hidden gem in the south of Hanoi is nestled with limestone karsts and lush greenery. Embark on a boat ride along the Tam Coc River, where emerald rice paddies line the water’s edge and ancient caves invite exploration. We climbed the steps of Hang Mua Peak for a panoramic view of the breathtaking Ninh Binh countryside.
