Puerto Rico

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Puerto Rico, a beautiful island nation in the Caribbean. It was an incredible experience filled with amazing sights, delicious food, and welcoming people.

Day 1: San Juan I arrived in San Juan and checked into my hotel in the Condado neighborhood. After settling in, I walked around the lively neighborhood and enjoyed a delicious dinner at Cocina Abierta, a trendy restaurant that offered a unique fusion of Puerto Rican and Mediterranean cuisine. The cost of the meal was approximately $30.

Day 2: Piñero and El Yunque National Rainforest I took a day trip to Piñero, a small fishing village on the eastern coast of Puerto Rico, and enjoyed some fresh seafood at the local restaurants. In the afternoon, I visited the El Yunque National Rainforest, which is the only tropical rainforest in the United States National Forest System. I hiked to the top of Mt Britton Trail and San Diego Falls and enjoyed the stunning views of the forest. The cost of the day trip was approximately $80, make sure to purchase park entrance tickets in advance for $2 .

Day 3: Las Playas Waterslide and Fajardo I took a day trip to Las Playas Waterslide, a natural water park in the middle of the forest, and slid down the natural slides made of rocks. In the afternoon, I visited Fajardo and took a kayak tour of the bioluminescent bay. The tour was a truly unique and magical experience, and it cost approximately $100.

Day 4: Culebra Island I took a ferry to Culebra Island, which is known for its beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters. I spent the day relaxing on Flamenco Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The ferry cost approximately $5 each way, and I spent around $20 on food and drinks for the day.

Day 5: Ponce I took a day trip to Ponce, a historic city on the southern coast of Puerto Rico. I visited the Ponce Museum of Art, which houses a fantastic collection of Puerto Rican and Latin American art. I also walked around the Plaza Las Delicias and visited the historic Parque de Bombas, which is now a museum of firefighting history. The cost of the day trip was approximately $70.

Day 6: Rincon I rented a car and drove to Rincon, a laid-back beach town on the west coast of Puerto Rico. I spent the day surfing, relaxing on the beach, and exploring the town’s vibrant art scene. I had dinner at La Cambija, a beachfront restaurant that served delicious seafood dishes. The cost of the rental car was approximately $40, and dinner cost approximately $25.

Day 7: Cascada Gozalandia and Aguadilla I visited the Cascada Gozalandia, a beautiful waterfall with crystal-clear water. I also explored the nearby town of Aguadilla and tried some delicious seafood at the popular El Anzuelo restaurant. The entire day cost me around $75.
